BDN Poll: Majority believe Republican reforms responsible for Maine’s declining poverty rate

BDN pollA majority of Mainers believe a reduction in Maine’s poverty rate, announced this week by the U.S. Census bureau, can be attributed to Republican-led reforms of the LePage Administration, according to a non-scientific poll of readers conducted by the Bangor Daily News.

As of 4:00PM Friday, 61.7 percent of respondents answered yes to the question: “Do you think Republican reforms contributed to Maine’s reduced poverty rate?” 767 readers responded to the poll.
