Richardson gets National Defense PAC support

Blaine 2Blaine Richardson, a Republican candidate for Congress in Maine’s 2nd Congressional District, announced Tuesday that he has been endorsed by National Defense PAC.

“I am very honored to receive this endorsement from one of the leading voices in the effort to replace the politicians in Washington D.C. with military veterans,” Richardson said in a written statement.

NDPAC, a national organization committed to putting U.S. veterans in elected office, has previously endorsed former Maine Secretary of State Charlie Summers and former Florida Republican Rep. Allen West.

NDPAC Chairman Rear Admiral James J. Carey, USN (ret) said, “Blaine Richardson will bring military expertise to the US Congress. Because of his participation in four conflicts that our country faced during his career, he understands the difference between the wants of the military and the needs of the military.”

“It is absolutely imperative that the citizens of the Pine Tree State elect this man who is a proven leader,” he said. “Richardson’s knowledge of the Armed Services will be an invaluable asset to the US Congress. His background in world affairs puts him head and shoulders above the others candidates who wish to fill this seat.”

NDPAC began 2013 with just $906 cash on hand. According to Federal Election Commission filings, the PAC’s largest year was 2008, when it raised $5000.
