Two Lewiston teens were arrested late Saturday night after a traffic stop led to the discovery of a stolen firearm and illegal drugs packaged for distribution.

The two juveniles, one age 16 and the other age 17, were stopped by Lewiston Police at approximately 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

Lewiston Police seized 15.9 grams of suspected fentanyl and 23.3 grams of suspected crack cocaine as result of the traffic stop.

The illegal drugs were all individually wrapped in packages intended for distribution, Lewiston Police wrote in a Monday press release.

The 16-year-old was charged with Receiving Stolen Property — a Class B crime due to the stolen property being a firearm — and Concealing a Dangerous Weapon, a Class D crime.

The 17-year-old was charged with Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule Drugs, multiple counts of Possession of Schedule Drugs, and Criminal Forfeiture.

The Juvenile Department of Corrections refused to detain either of the suspects, and they were both authorized to be released to their parents on conditions of house arrest, according to police.
