At around 9:30 p.m., police responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot near the intersection of Oak Street and Sabattus Street.
When the police arrived, a witness told them that she had seen individuals in the vehicle pointing a green laser at the surrounding buildings. She said that she heard a single gunshot as she was entering her nearby apartment.
In response to the report, officers located the vehicle, which was still in the parking lot, and conducted a felony stop.
They detained the vehicle’s four occupants and transported them to the Lewiston Police Station for questioning.
During the investigation, police allegedly discovered two firearms in the vehicle, one of which had a green laser sight attached, along with a spent shell casing.
After interviewing the vehicle’s occupants, police released three of them and arrested the fourth, Demonte Powell, 19, on charges of reckless conduct with a firearm.
