As political observers question whether California Gov. Gavin Newsom is considering a presidential bid, the Democrat from the U.S.’s largest state is pitching a 28th amendment to curtail the right to bear arms.

On Monday, Newsom’s political action committee began running ads to drum up support for the idea.

Social media posts indicated that the proposed constitutional amendment would raise the minimum age to buy a firearm, mandate universal background checks, institute a “reasonable waiting period of gun purchases,” and ban civilians from purchasing what he calls “assault weapons.”

Specific details of the proposal are not currently posted to Newsom’s website.

In order to successfully amend the U.S. Constitution, Newsom’s anti-gun amendment would need two-thirds support in the House and Senate in order to be sent to the States for ratification. Three-quarters of the States would have to approve it.

That high bar is one Newsom is unlikely to meet, but throwing the idea out there is allowing him to collect a ton of emails from pro-gun control voters.

Newsom has denied that he’s running for president in the 2024 election; however, many in the political press have been speculating that Newsom is on deck for the spot should incumbent President Joe Biden drop out.

The best laugh about the left’s agenda to take guns away from people is that they can’t seem to take them away from the criminals and don’t intend to. When criminals cause chaos, the people are not noticing the corruption of the government as they are too busy trying to survive the streets.

The Democrats are moving to take away the 2nd Amendment to make sure the population cannot rise up or resist their sycophantic obsession with America becoming their Fascistic Dystopian Regime.
