A man was arrested and charged with murder in Portland in relation to the death of a 61-year-old man in Westbrook, according to Maine State Police.

Police say the body of 61-year-old Clarence James Pearson of Westbrook was found in an apartment on Mechanic Street on November 28.

An arrest warrant was issued for 36-year-old Deng Malual, who was found by police Monday in Portland and charged with murder.

Malual is being held at the Cumberland County Jail.

Maine State Police say the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Pearson’s death is ongoing, and have not yet released how Pearson died.
