A Hancock man has been sentenced to two years probation and a $5,000 fine for kicking and pushing an FBI agent while the agents were attempting to execute a search warrant at his house.

Chief U.S. District Judge Lance Walker sentenced Alan Howell Parrot, 69, of Hancock, on Thursday after a federal jury found Parrot guilty of assaulting a federal officer following a one-day trial in November.

The incident in question occurred on June 22, 2023, when FBI special agents were attempting to execute a federal search warrant at Parrot’s residence in Hancock, according to court records.

When the agents were trying to enter the home, Parrot attempted to close the door and became combative, kicking one female FBI agent in the abdomen and pushing her backwards, resulting in injuries to her arm and elbow, the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the District of Maine stated Thursday.

“Alan Parrot’s attack on an FBI special agent is yet another reminder of the danger law enforcement officers face on a daily basis – and the successful prosecution of Mr. Parrot should serve as a warning to all that if you assault and injure a law enforcement officer, the consequence is a felony conviction,” said Jodi Cohen, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Boston Division.

“Assaults on officers will be met with a swift response and will not be tolerated,” Cohen said.

I’m curious of why the FBI had. Search warrant on a 69 year old? With the strange search warrant they did on a 53 year old professional in Arkansas with absolutely no cameras and put tape over his camera. The Arkansas man resulted in his death because he thought he was being robbed at 6am. I hope it was for a better reason than the Arkansas man
