Despite a disastrous performance by President Joe Biden at the first presidential debate versus former President Donald Trump that sent Democratic pundits into an immediate panic, Maine Gov. Janet Mills (D) reaffirmed her support for the 81-year-old presumptive nominee at a Thursday evening debate watch party in South Portland.
Gov. Mills, speaking to a crowd of roughly 50 attendees at the watch party, said that she is supporting President Biden because he “has done the most to help the state of Maine.”

“I know who came here, who stood with us after Oct. 25th in Lewiston, who spent hours with the victims of that tragedy and the families of the deceased of that tragedy,” Mills said, referring to Biden’s visit to Maine in early November of last year following the mass shooting in Lewiston.
According to the progressive billionaire-funded Maine Morning Star, who was present at the debate watch party event, Mills said that “[d]emocracy is at stake” in the November election, and that Trump did not display common sense and civility during the debate.
It is unclear what “common sense” was displayed by President Biden during his rambling and often incoherent statements in the debate, a performance which was widely criticized by Democratic talking heads and has already led to calls for Biden to step aside as his Party’s nominee.
Other issues cited by Mills in order to explain her support for Biden included his administration “helping [Maine] fight PFAS” — toxic man-made “forever chemicals” — as well as helping Maine “fight the rising seas” and granting the state several disaster declarations for federal aid after a series of severe storms.
Mills also found fault with the format of the CNN-hosted presidential debate, telling the Maine Morning Star that “It’s not the level of debate that I was hoping for.”
“It’s not the level of questioning that I was hoping for,” Mills said. “There’s some good questions but there’s no follow up.”

Seems like a lot of law enforcement there! Is this because they are in Mills pocket and why they won’t lift a finger to end the illegal drug trade? Mills won’t mention it, the state troopers won’t lift a finger local law is absent, the only real law we have are some of the sheriff’s departments that are standing tall!
