Golden Dodges Biden’s “Senior Moments” But Says Trump Will Win

Following the first 2024 presidential debate, U.S. Rep. Jared Golden (D-Maine) an op-ed addressing the situation after Maine’s congressional delegation remained silent for days.

In the op-ed, Golden predicted the former Republican President Donald Trump would win the election in November — something he claimed to have known for several months before Biden’s disastrous debate performance led to widespread calls for him to step aside as the nominee or resign as president.

“Biden’s poor performance in the debate was not a surprise. It also didn’t rattle me as it has others, because the outcome of this election has been clear to me for months: While I don’t plan to vote for him, Donald Trump is going to win. And I’m OK with that,” said Rep. Golden in an op-ed for the Bangor Daily News.

The Democrat refrained from commenting on whether Biden remained fit to serve as Commander-in-Chief and did not say whether he’d support replacing the 81-year-old with another candidate.

Golden, who shared a helicopter ride with Biden last August, has nevertheless supported the president and, if he was aware of the president’s declining mental state, never mentioned it to his constituents.

Golden also used his op-ed to criticize his fellow Democrats for claiming that former President Trump would “destroy democracy” if elected.

“Unlike Biden and many others, I refuse to participate in a campaign to scare voters with the idea that Trump will end our democratic system,” said Golden. “Pearl-clutching about a Trump victory ignores the strength of our democracy.”

Golden used the bulk of his article to tell voters about the importance of congressional elections for the economy and highlighted Democrats’ voting record on economic policies, suggesting that even if Mainers accept a Trump victory, they should nevertheless support Democrats like him for Congress.

“My focus is on representing the people of Maine’s Second Congressional District and working for the common good of all Americans. This Independence Day, we should reflect on the history and strength of our great democracy, safe in the knowledge that no one man is strong enough to take it away from us,” said Golden.

Following Golden’s op-ed, his opponent for Maine’s Second Congressional District (CD2), State Rep. Austin Theriault (R-Fort Kent), issued a brief statement taking aim at Golden for failing to express his opinion on the president’s mental decline.

“He STILL doesn’t say if he supports Biden. Golden is playing politics. And just like the mainstream media is helping Biden hide his advanced age and infirmity, the mainstream media is avoiding asking Golden the obvious, simple question. Golden is clearly very, very scared of this question. That’s why he and his media allies are avoiding it,” said Theriault on X.

🚨POLITICIAN ALERT: Jared Golden is hiding from you 🚨

Did you see his latest attempt to avoid saying if he still supports Biden?

He wrote an entire Bangor Daily News op-ed about the presidential election…

And, in it, he STILL doesn’t say if he supports Biden.

Golden is…

— Austin Theriault (@AustinTheriault) July 3, 2024

Theriault then called on his opponent to clearly state whether he supports Biden.

Golden has not yet responded.

In recent years, Maine’s CD2 has leaned right in presidential elections, casting its electoral votes for President Trump in both 2016 and 2020, but has nevertheless chosen to be represented in the U.S. House by a Democrat.

He is still voting with and for Biden. It is the democrats policies, no matter which democrat is President. You know, the policies Jared supports, gun control, open borders, Ukraine, DEI, grooming children for sex changes, all policies Jared supports.

Goldie’s days are numbered, he’s out after November! He sucked up to a loser (Biden), and has been a Biden rubber stamp bobblehead for the radical Socialists. He has never represented his constituents! He’s an immature, feckless Democrat stooge!
