According to Portland Police, the traffic stop occurred just after midnight on Monday, when the vehicle in question made an illegal U-turn.

During the stop, police found that one of the occupants of the vehicle, 18-year-old Cole Swan of Yarmouth, was violating bail conditions.

Swan was arrested and charged with aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs, unlawful possession of cocaine and violating conditions of release, and is being held without at bail at Cumberland County Jail.

Swan was previously arrested in April after a foot chase through downtown Portland, when police said he was found in possession of crack cocaine and a loaded handgun.

A second occupant of the vehicle, a 16-year-old male, also from Yarmouth, was arrested and charged with aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs and unlawful possession of cocaine.

The male juvenile was taken to Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland.

As a result of the traffic stop, police seized 62 grams of cocaine base (crack cocaine), 8.17 grams of cocaine hydrochloride, $1,550 in cash, a digital scale, and a loaded handgun.

The crew that makes up the Maine Gun Safety Coalition are all from Yarmouth and other coastal towns. Maybe they should be trying to keep illegal guns away from teenage drug dealers their communities rather than trying to take away law abiding citizen’s individual rights.

How was this young ruffian out on the streets? “Swan was previously arrested in April after a foot chase through downtown Portland, when police said he was found in possession of crack cocaine and a loaded handgun.” How many Soros funded DAs have we in Maine?

I never realized that police need to know chemistry like this. I expect them to use chemical symbols in the future. What’s the chemical symbol for ‘cocaine hydrochloride’? C17H22ClNO4
