The second gunman accused of attempting to assassinate former President Donald Trump has offered a $150,000 reward to anyone who succeeds in killing the Republican nominee.

“This was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump, but I am so sorry I failed you. I tried my best and gave it all the gumption I could muster. It is up to you now to finish the job; and I will offer $150,000 to whomever can complete the job,” said alleged gunman Ryan Wesley Routh in the newly published note.

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) released part of Routh’s note on Monday in its document calling for his pre-trial detention.

The handwritten note, addressed “Dear World,” claimed that “Trump is unfit to be anything, much less a U.S. President” and echoed other frequent criticisms of Trump promoted by the Democratic Party and the mainstream media.

“U.S. Presidents must at bare minimum embody the moral fabric that is America and be kind, caring and selfless and always stand for humanity. Trump fails to understand any…,” Routh continued.

The DOJ released only the first page of the note, and it is unclear how much of the note remains unreleased.

Routh’s note also included a claim blaming Trump’s handling of Iran for the current chaos in the Middle East, according to the DOJ.

The detention memo provided no additional information on the note’s contents.

An unnamed civilian contacted law enforcement, claiming that he had just opened a box containing a note left at his house by Routh months before the assassination attempt.

The civilian claimed that he didn’t open the box until after Routh was arrested.

The box contained a note, ammunition, tools, building materials, four phones, and “various letters.”

The DOJ report did not reveal anything about the person who received the box or whether they believe he was working with Routh.

The letter was written months before the failed assassination attempt, but presupposed that Routh would fail.

The note presumed that Routh would be able to pay the $150,000 bounty even after failing, though it is unclear if any mechanism exists to distribute that money if Trump is killed.

Republicans were quick to point out the strangeness of the DOJ releasing the memo to the public.

Some prominent conservatives suggested that the DOJ released the first page of the note because they want the bounty on Trump’s head to be made public, so more people are inspired to try to murder the former president.

“The DOJ released a letter written by Ryan Wesley Routh offering $150,000 to anyone who could ‘finish the job’ on President Trump. The DOJ, which is trying to put Trump in prison, is now offering a bounty on Trump’s head by releasing this. Why else would they release this,” said Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on X.

While the DOJ rapidly released the note offering a bounty for the murder of Trump, officials continually delayed releasing the manifesto of the transgender shooter, Audrey Hale, who murdered students at a Christian elementary school in Nashville, Tennessee.

The DOJ memo only added to the mystery surrounding Routh and his alleged plot to assassinate Trump. The document also revealed what was discovered in Routh’s car at the time of his arrest.

Law enforcement discovered six phones, one with a search history suggesting that Routh planned to escape to Mexico, and a list of places and times when Trump was expected to appear.

Officials also discovered a notebook containing discussions on how to fight for Ukraine.

FBI agents discovered during their investigation that Routh wrote a book entitled “Ukraine’s Unwinnable War: The Fatal Flaw of Democracy, World Abandonment and the Global Citizen-Taiwan, Afghanistan, North Korea, WWIII and The End of Humanity” in February 2023 according to the new report.

In his book, Routh apologized to Iran for voting for a “brainless” candidate after supporting Trump in 2016 and gave Iran permission to kill him in retribution, along with calling on the nation to assassinate Trump.

“I am man enough to say that I misjudged and made a terrible mistake and Iran I apologize. You are free to assassinate Trump as well as me for that error in judgment and the dismantling of the deal,” said Routh in his book

That book remains available for purchase on Amazon.
