According to Portland Police, officers with the department’s Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) and MDEA agents made the arrest on Sherwood Street in Portland at about 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday, as the result of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.

Nichole Staples, 35, of Portland, was charged with unlawful trafficking of scheduled drugs and violating conditions of release.

At the time of her arrest, Staples also had nine warrants out for her arrest, police said.

Staples was found by authorities to be in possession of 88.4 grams of fentanyl.
