Portland Police announced on Wednesday that they have arrested a suspect for murder in connection to an ongoing investigation into a late November homicide on Marshall Street.

Police say that officers responded to 24 Marshall St. shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, for a report of a deceased individual in an apartment.

Upon arrival, police found the body of 43-year-old Matthew Merrick of Portland inside the apartment.

The Maine Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta ruled Merrick’s death a homicide on Sunday, Dec. 1.

Portland Police say that on Tuesday, Dec. 3, they arrested 48-year-old Domingus Nobrega of Portland at the Scarborough Walmart.

Nobrega was charged with murder and was transported to the Cumberland County Jail, where he is being held without bail.

Domingus Nobrega, aha yes of the old Nobrega family I believe either native to the area since before maine separated from mass in1820 or bussed in on the mills express 2019-2024, not sure.

This guy has been breaking the law for some time.
Back in 2012 he was sentenced to 10 yrs for firearms violations.
