The Sanford Police Department is investigating a Wednesday stabbing that left one victim with non-life threatening injuries.

On Wednesday, April 9 at about 7:30 a.m., Sanford Police responded to a reported disturbance reported on Bodwell Street.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a male victim who had sustained a stab wound.

Police say the victim was treated at Maine Medical Center in Sanford and that his injuries were not life-threatening

“We would like to thank the staff for their prompt and professional emergency care,” Sanford Police wrote in a Wednesday post to social media.

Police say they believe the stabbing is an isolated incident, and that they are not releasing specifics around the incident due to their investigation being ongoing.
