Westbrook Police on Thursday announced the arrest of a Gray man in connection to their investigation into the theft of tools from a local business.

According to police, in mid-May they received a report from a business that a suspect had burglarized several of their trailers, stealing tools.

An investigation into the burglary was launched and led detectives to develop a description of the suspect.

Westbrook Police patrol officers then identified an individual matching the description, with whom they had recently had contact.

Detectives executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence in Gray. The stolen tools were found on the property.

The suspect, identified as 47-year-old Joshua Toman of Gray, was located outside of the residence.

Toman was arrested and charged with felony theft.

Police say Toman was on probation at the time of his arrest.

He is currently being held on a probation hold at the Cumberland County Jail.

Westbrook Police say the stolen tools found at Toman’s property have been returned to their rightful owners.
