Penobscot County Sheriff’s deputies conducted drug raids on two Charleston homes on Tuesday that led to two arrests and the seizure of massive amounts of drugs, including over a kilogram of methamphetamines.

Deputies from the Penobscot Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant at a residence on Bacon Road in Charleston on Tuesday. During the execution of that warrant, deputies uncovered evidence that led them to secure another warrant for a residence on Puddledock Road in Charleston.

While carrying out the second warrant, Penobscot Sheriff’s Department K9 unit Memphis alerted deputies to the presence of illegal drugs. Deputies discovered 1003.8 grams worth of methamphetamines, 12.9 grams of suspected fentanyl, an unspecified amount of cash, and six firearms.

Law enforcement arrested Jessica Smock, 43, of Charleston on charges of aggravated unlawful trafficking of schedule W drugs and possession of a firearm by a prohibited individual.

Deputies also arrested the 66-year-old Lou-Ann Smock of Charleston, on two counts of aggravated unlawful trafficking of schedule W drugs, one a class A felony and one a class B felony.
