A Wiscasset man faces a slew of charges for an alleged drunk driving crash in South Portland on Friday that left him, his passenger, and another driver hospitalized with minor injuries.

At around 10:37 p.m., a South Portland police officer was conducting a routine traffic stop when she saw a Ford F-250 heading north on I-295 at excessive speeds.

Shortly thereafter, the driver of the truck, Taylor Delano, 25, of Wiscasset, allegedly struck an Acura also traveling northbound.

The truck flipped over, smashed through a guardrail, and careened into the woods, eventually stopping after it struck some trees.

Maine State Troopers responded and temporarily sealed off one lane of I-295 for clean-up.

Delano, his passenger, and the driver of the Acura were all transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland for treatment of minor injuries.

Delano faces charges of operating under the influence with a prior offense, operating under the influence with a prior license revocation, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, and a probation violation.
