Just after 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the Wiscasset Police Department responded to an Old Sheepscot Road residence after receiving reports that someone had shot at the home.
Investigators discovered that three shots were fired at the residence. One bullet struck and shattered the storm door glass, penetrated the interior metal door, and landed in the home’s living room, less than ten feet from where the adult male resident was sitting with his juvenile son.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department and a K-9 unit responded to assist in the investigation.
The investigation continued into the evening when the Lincoln Sheriff’s Department responded to an unrelated incident in Whitfield.
While responding to that incident, deputies discovered evidence that reportedly linked the Wiscasset shooting to a similar incident that took place the week prior in Alna, where homeowners found their newly purchased home riddled with six bullet holes on the day they were moving in.
The investigation continued until Wednesday, when police identified and arrested three suspects: Jacob McInnis Jr., 18, of Whitefield; Camden Larrabee, 18, of Sabattus; and Caleb Busby, 18, of Bremen.
All three suspects face felony charges of aggravated criminal mischief and reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon.
They were transported to the Two Bridges Regional Jail, where they were issued $10,000 bail.
McInnis Jr. was also arrested and charged in connection with the Alna shooting and was issued a $1,500 bail for those charges.
The Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office, Damariscotta Police Department, Sabattus Police Department, and the Augusta Police Department all assisted with the investigation.
