NEW YORK — Progressive activists documented their government-hosted Islamic religious observance inside New York City Hall, in trend with leftwing selective-application of the constitution and contradicting their own beliefs regarding separation of church and state.
Ariana Jasmine, an individual affiliated with the Democratic Socialists of America, posted photographs of herself and others breaking fast alongside socialist leader Zohran Mamdani in City Hall. The photographs of individuals breaking the Ramadan fast reveal participants sitting on rugs in a formal government room enjoying traditional Islamic meals.

As hosted by Mayor Mamdani, the gathering integrates core religious practices of Ramadan into New York’s City Hall. Additional images illustrate individuals engaged in observance, accompanied by prayer rugs and floral arrangements that highlight the event’s religious prominence.
The post author, who identifies on her X profile as a “leftist brat” and displays her Iranian heritage; captioned the post, “Breaking our iftaar fast with mayor Mamdani at city hall.” The photographs proceed to capture herself alongside other Islamic event members in the city hall, enthusiastically documenting the state-sponsored religious gathering despite progressive advocacy for secular governance.
If they remember, the First Amendment’s establishment clause prohibits government endorsement of religion, widely propagated amongst progressives to challenge Christian public displays of faith, school prayers, and holiday observances. Despite their outspoken activism against Christians, an Islamic event held by the mayor in New York City Hall raises discussion as to biased application of the constitution.
These events, often intended to foster diversity and inclusion, frequently appear in taxpayer-funded facilities involving state elected officials to some capacity. Our friendly socialist comrade’s post on X, provides clear insight as to how the selective-constitutional approach favors their agenda. Regardless of faith, deviations in constitutional consistency threaten our ability to preserve public trust in government impartiality and further illustrates the hypocrisy within the left.
