At approximately 12:30 a.m. NH State Trooper Daniel Bourque spotted a 2014 Chrysler 300 allegedly speeding at 118 mph in Greenland on I-95.
Borque attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver reportedly refused to comply and fled, sparking a pursuit.
The Chrysler reportedly entered Route 101 near the Hampton Side Toll Plaza and fled westbound through Hampton and Exeter.
The pursuit reportedly ended when the driver took Exit 11 in Stratham and lost control of the vehicle after failing to negotiate around a traffic island at the end of the off-ramp.
The driver then allegedly smashed into the retaining wall at the base of the Route 101 overpass.
Police then arrested the driver, identified as Jason A. Schalebaum, 18, of Stoneham, Mass. During the arrest, troopers allegedly noticed that Schalebaum displayed signs of impairment.
He was charged with multiple counts of felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, aggravated driving under the influence, disobeying an officer, conduct after an accident, and possession of controlled drugs.
He was initially transported to a local hospital for treatment for minor injuries before being taken to the Rockingham County Jail.
At the jail, he allegedly refused bail.
While investigating the incident, troopers found that Schalebaum had allegedly fled an attempted traffic stop by the Maine State Police just five minutes before he reportedly started the pursuit in NH.
The Maine State Police reportedly assisted in the arrest, along with multiple local NH police departments. Additional charges are pending for Schalebaum in Maine.
Police did not provide a booking photo for the suspect.
