Maine GOP, #GEN207 to take 2016 presidential straw poll

gopAUGUSTA – The Maine Republican Party will conduct a 2016 presidential election straw poll during the party convention in April, a party spokesman announced Friday. 

“The #Gen207 Presidential Straw Poll provides a casual outlet for Maine Republicans to voice their opinions on the 2016 election. It provides an opportunity to see where the party appears to be headed,” said Ashley Ryan.

According to the GOP press release, the following potential candidates will be included in the straw poll:

Kelly Ayotte – New Hampshire Senator
Jeb Bush – Former Florida Governor
Ben Carson – Neurosurgeon and author
Chris Christie – New Jersey Governor
Ted Cruz – Texas Senator
Mike Huckabee – Former Arkansas Governor
Bobby Jindal – Louisiana Governor
Rick Perry – Texas Governor
Rand Paul – Kentucky Senator
Condoleezza Rice – Former Secretary of State
Marco Rubio – Florida Senator
Paul Ryan – Wisconsin Congressman
Rick Santorum – Former Pennsylvania Senator
Scott Walker – Wisconsin Governor
