Five Chinese nationals were arrested this week in California after border agents discovered thousands of gift cards, merchandise, and 23 fake Pennsylvania IDs, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said Thursday.

Of the five, three had pending hearings for claims of asylum.

CBP did not release any other details about the individuals.
