A South Thomaston man was arrested for aggravated assault in Rockland on Sunday after reportedly kicking a victim repeatedly in the face, according to Rockland Police.

Rockland Police officers responded to a reported assault in progress just after midnight on Sunday.

Witnesses told police that they had seen the victim on their hands and knees being repeatedly kicked in the face.

Officers observed blood at the scene and located the victim nearby.

The victim was transported to Pen Bay Medical Center with significant injuries to their face, police said.

Robert Barter, 60, of South Thomaston, was detained at the scene and subsequently charged with criminal threatening and felony aggravated assault.

According to police, a small amount of white powder was also found on Barter’s person, and further charges may be forthcoming pending testing on the powder.

Some people just need their face kicked in.

“Witnesses told police that they had seen the victim on their hands and knees being repeatedly kicked in the face.” How can one person be on “THEIR hands and knees” Can the Rockland police not tell a man from a women? Or have been trained to be politically correct?
