The Sudanese refugee who in July was arrested for allegedly threatening to shoot up a fried chicken restaurant in Portland reportedly told customers that he was “going to have a mass shooting in here,” court records indicate.

Portland Police announced on July 9, 2024, that they had arrested 25-year-old Anthony Lobor of Portland on charges of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, threatening display of or possession of a concealed weapon and violation of conditions of release.

Court records indicate that Lobor has three separate bail conditions at the time of his arrest.

According to a July 8 affidavit submitted by a Portland Police detective, at about 1:50 a.m. on July 6, police received a 911 call from a person inside of the Crown Fried Chicken restaurant located at 408 Forest Ave., who told dispatch that a black male with a pistol was “threatening to fight people.”

Several Portland Police officers were dispatched to the restaurant. Upon arrival, customers told police that the male suspect had already left the area, the affidavit states.

“Many of the witnesses inside the restaurant told Officer Cannell that there was a male that threatened people with a gun but no one wanted to elaborate on what happened,” the affidavit states.

One witness approached an officer outside of the restaurant and told him that he was one of the victims that was threatened by the suspect.

The witness related the following to the officer, according to the affidavit:

[The witness] reported that he was sitting inside Crown Fried Chicken with some of his friends when a very dark-skinned black male with short hair, about 6’6″, wearing green pants and white air force one sneakers came into the restaurant with two of his friends.

[Witness] said that the 6’6″ male started an argument with him because he was “looking at him.” [Witness] stated that one of the tall males’ friends tried to break things up. [Witness] said that the tall male then lifted his shirt and exposed a handgun and grabbed the handle.

[Witness] said that the male suspect then said he was “gonna have a mass shooting in here.”

[Witness] reported that the suspect made a fake “finger gun” with his hand and simulated pulling the trigger of a gun with his finger while pointing at him and all of his friends while saying “I got a bullet for every one of you.”

The witness told police that the male suspect then left the restaurant with his friends, and proceeded to shoot his gun into the ground.

Police were able to locate and recover a shell casing and bullet in the parking lot of the restaurant, and to speak with three witnesses who were outside of the restaurant and heard a gunshot.

Surveillance footage obtained by police from Crown Fried Chicken confirmed several details of the witness’ story, including the aggressive finger pointing by the male suspect and the suspect gripping an item concealed in his waistband, the affidavit states.

One officer believed he recognized the suspect to be Anthony Lobor, 25, of Portland. Three witnesses from the restaurant later identified Lobor as the suspect from a six-person photo array, the affidavit states.

One of the three witness additionally told police in a statement that the suspect “began exposing and grabbing the firearm in his pants while saying that he was going to ‘boom’ everyone.”

Anthony Lobor is from a family of Sudanese refugees who came to Portland in 2004, according to an article about his family published by Portland Press Herald.

Lobor’s older brother, Patrick Lobor, died in 2018 of a stab wound after crashing his car on Brighton Avenue in Portland. Police said at the time that they believed there was no foul play in Patrick Lobor’s death, which was ruled a suicide by Maine’s Medical Examiner’s Office.

Another brother in the family, Richard Lobor, was murdered at age 23 in November 2014 at an apartment complex in Portland.

In a July 9 press release, Portland Police said that a surveillance team located Lobor at 42 Kellogg St. in Portland on July 8, but that they chose not to apprehend him due to several small children being present.

Later that same say, at about 5 p.m., police took him into custody after a brief foot chase.

A search of the 42 Kellogg St. residence resulted in the discovery of several firearms, firearm components, drugs, cash and evidence of suspected drug trafficking, police said.

One of the firearms recovered during the search was reportedly a “fully automatic rifle,” police said in July.

Lobor has been indicted on a total of five counts: criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon (Class C), threatening display of a weapon (Class D), violation of condition of release (Class E), unlawful possession of cocaine base (Class C) and unlawful possession of cocaine (Class C).

Lobor remains in custody at the Cumberland County Jail, where his bail was set at $15,000 cash. A petition from Lobor’s attorney to redetermine his bail conditions was denied by a judge on Sept. 12.

A pretrial dispositional conference for Lobor is scheduled for Nov. 13, 2024, in Cumberland County Court.

It is unclear whether Lobor will face any additional charges related to his alleged possession of an automatic weapon.

The Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office told the Maine Wire on Tuesday that due to the case being active, they are not able to provide any information regarding potential additional charges.

The Cumberland County DA is Jackie Satorios, a George Soros sponsored DA. She’ll let him off with all charges dropped. DEI strikes again. Trump is right. They’re not sending their best here.

You can damn sure bet that if a working taxpaying citizen of any color had used a CCW and shot this POS, there would be no bail, and the DA would be foaming at the mouth to put him under the jail forever. While the Moonbats would be wailing gnashing their teeth pulling their hair and protesting in the streets over the unfair treatment of this poor refugee.

Don’t you just love “multi-culturalism?” It’s gonna take a while for us to assimilate ourselves into the cultural norms preferred by others around the world.

Luckily, we have CC DA Jackie Sartoris, whose name coincidentally rhymes with Soros, her patron sponsor.

We’ll get the hang of it sooner or later; we have no choice.

The helicopter operation described below was often called “float checking” in the Navy. If you had some problem piece of equipment that was causing constant problems, you threw it over the side to see if it would “float,” in which case you would recover it.

In the case at hand, it could be called swimming lessons, or swimmer qualifications.
