Attorneys from the Democrat Party-aligned Elias Law Group filed a lawsuit against the Trump Administration’s new election integrity efforts on Monday on behalf of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.), and others.

“Now, rather than trying to make it easier for American citizens to vote, the President wants to make it easier for DOGE to access their sensitive personal information. We will do everything in our power to hold the President and his administration accountable for this unconstitutional and anti-democratic power grab,” said Aria Branch, partner at the Elias Law Group in a press release.

“The President’s unlawful Executive Order threatens to tilt the electoral playing field in his favor by throwing out millions of legal votes, adding new restrictions to the voter registration process, undermining critical election administration resources, and exposing sensitive personal data to DOGE,” said Lali Madduri, another partner at the firm.

The Democratic Governors Association (DGA), of which Gov. Janet Mills (D-Maine) is a member, along with the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), are also plaintiffs in the lawsuit.

The suit accuses the Trump administration of contriving to remove millions of legal votes and giving sensitive personal information to the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Attorneys bring the action highlighted the provision in President Trump’s executive order that required states to stop counting votes received after Election Day.

They also object to the bill sharing personal information with DOGE to help ensure that non-citizens are not registered to vote.

In the suit, plaintiffs oppose the new requirements for voters to prove their citizenship when registering to vote on the grounds that it violates congressional guidance contradicting the change and allegedly imposes undue burdens on citizens living abroad.

The Elias Law Group is primarily arguing that Trump’s order overstepped his constitutional authority because only states and Congress can regulate elections. They claim that if the order is allowed to stand, tens of millions of Democratic voters will be harmed by the increased security measures.

The suit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

Of course democrats don’t want voter ID. That would make it harder for their infamous registration of dead people or illegals

“unconstitutional and anti-democratic power grab” How?, they don’t know they’re just reading off the script.
“threatens to tilt the electoral playing field in his favor by throwing out millions of legal votes” Remember when conservatives declared cheating in elections and the liberals said “prove it”. I say to the liberals you prove it.

  4. Robert M . on April 4, 2025 7:14 AM

The democrats keep crying “ If we can’t cheat we can’t win “
    No identification
    Mail in ballots
    Counting for days after election
    Ranked choice scheme
    Voting compacts
    Let the Somalis vote
    Democrats are destroying America

For every election local, regional, national they want to find out how many votes they need to win .
Print them up , drop ( sneak ) them in the mail system , claim they came from “ overseas “ voters ….bingo
    Democrats win again .

Boy what a surprise, the P’sOS don’t want legal citizens to be the only ones voting, without the dead, illegals, ballot stuffing, etc etc etc, they would lose control………….. Man, they might even have to go to work for a living……….

Gov’s worried about not being able to cheat anymore, or at least it’ll be harder to do so.

You can’t buy tobacco products, alcohol, apply for a driver’s license, sign up for electricity, sign up for cable services, get a credit account, get a loan, get a credit account with fuel companies without submitting proper ID, proof that you actually live at an address, proof you file income tax, BUT one can vote with no questions asked????? When I registered to vote I had to have a legal ID as well as proof by way of a bill that I lived at the address I supplied!!! WTF kind of kool-aid are these people drinking???
