Another Pair of Ecuadorian Illegal Aliens Arrested by Border Patrol in Maine

U.S. Border Patrol agents from Maine’s Houlton Sector have arrested another pair of Ecuadorian illegal immigrants during a vehicle stop, the agency announced Monday.

According to Border Patrol, Houlton Sector agents were involved on a vehicle stop on Route 1 that resulted in the apprehension of two Ecuadorian nationals.

Following an examination of their records, agents determined that both subjects were illegally present in the U.S.

Border Patrol stated the Ecuadorian nationals had illegally entered the U.S. in March 2024.

Both Ecuadorian citizens have been turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for removal proceedings.

The arrest of the pair of illegal Ecuadorian nationals comes as the latest in a series of arrests of Ecuadorian citizens by Border Patrol in Maine in recent weeks.

On April 23, Houlton Sector Border Patrol agents found 11 Ecuadorian illegal aliens in a single vehicle during a traffic stop in Dresden.

On Tuesday, May 6, about two weeks after the April 23 arrest, Houlton Sector Border Patrol agents in Caribou conducted two vehicle stops which resulted in the apprehension of five male Ecuadorian illegal aliens.
