Convicted pedophile Henry Eichman, 65, of Topsham, was sentenced to an additional 20 years in prison this week on federal child pornography charges after new evidence emerged while he was already serving time for child sexual abuse charges.
Eichman has been in state prison since 2018, where he has been serving a ten-year sentence for numerous counts of unlawful sexual contact with minors.
On Tuesday, Chief U.S. District Judge Lance E. Walker sentenced Eichman to an additional 20 years in prison after he pleaded guilty in December to additional charges of child pornography production following the discovery of more evidence.
In August 2022, an employee at a landscaping company in Brunswick, where Eichman had previously worked, found two laptops and multiple hard drives hidden underneath a kayak on the company’s property. When the employee opened the laptops, he discovered child pornography and identified Eichman in the videos.
Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) conducted a forensic examination of the laptops and hard drives and discovered over 500 images and videos of child pornography, including videos showing Eichman sexually abusing minors under the age of 12.
The videos were filmed between 2014-2016.
Prior to the additional federal charges, Eichman’s earliest possible release date was August 7, 2025, but the new sentence is set to begin only after he completes his term for his state crime. Even if his term ends in 2026, when he will be 66, Eichman will now remain in prison until he is 86.
Should he survive to that advanced age in prison, he will face a lifetime of supervised release.
