At around 5:55 p.m., NH Trooper Philip Sheehy attempted to initiate a traffic stop of a silver 2022 Honda Civic on Route 16 southbound in Dover after he allegedly witnessed the vehicle speeding.
The driver allegedly refused to stop and instead fled at speeds exceeding 100 mph, sparking a pursuit.
Troopers followed the vehicle until it took the Exit 3 off-ramp, and the driver veered off the road, ending up in the median.
The driver then allegedly fled the scene of the crash, but a passing motorist was able to help troopers apprehend the suspect. The driver who assisted in apprehending the suspect was Ogunquit Police Officer Scott D. Flanagan.
The suspect, Stephanie Dupont, 41, of Somersworth, suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene of the crash before being transported to a local hospital for evaluation. She was eventually taken into custody.
Dupont faces charges of operating after being certified as a habitual offender, reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, disobeying an officer, and aggravated driving while under the influence.
