WEST PARIS, Maine — A water main break in West Paris has prompted town officials to issue a boil water order for customers of the West Paris Water District.
Janet Hebert of the West Paris Water District said the break occurred late Monday night near the Maine Forest Service station at 131 Bethel Road.
Residents are being directed to boil all water for one minute at a rolling boil before using it for drinking, making ice cubes, washing food, brushing teeth, or any other activity involving water consumption.
The boil water order is in effect until further notice.
Hebert said Poland Corporation crews were working Tuesday to repair the broken water main.
The Water District will notify customers once water testing is complete and the boil water order can be lifted.
