The Portland Police Department arrested a Falmouth man on Sunday after he allegedly broke into a home carrying a firearm, assaulted a resident, and fled from police on a scooter while trafficking fentanyl.

At approximately 12:54 p.m., police responded to a reported disturbance at 64 Munjoy South Street.
Police arrived to discover that the door had been kicked in and that the suspect allegedly threatened a resident with a firearm and struck him with the weapon before fleeing.
At approximately 3:40 p.m., law enforcement spotted the suspect traveling on an electric scooter near Silver Street.
Officers attempted to take him into custody, but he allegedly fled on the scooter.
A South Portland Police K9 unit responded to assist in the pursuit, and the suspect was eventually arrested after he allegedly crashed his scooter into a police cruiser.
The suspect was identified as Devon Dwyer, 34, of Falmouth. At the time of the arrest, Dwyer was allegedly found wearing ballistic plates and in possession of a knife, a handgun, and drugs, including 91 grams of fentanyl.
He was transported to the Maine Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries before being booked into the Cumberland County Jail.
Dwyer faces charges of assault, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, burglary, refusing to submit to arrest or detention, criminal mischief, unlawful possession of methamphetamine, aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs, and violating conditions of release.
After the publication of this article, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department released Dwyer’s mugshot.
