Penobscot County Sheriff’s deputies responded on Friday night and into Saturday morning to two unrelated domestic violence incidents in Garland and Hermon.

At approximately 8:00 p.m. on Friday, deputies responded to a Garland residence for reports of a family fight.

Deputies mounted an investigation and reportedly developed probable cause to arrest Wade Bigelow, 54, of Garland.

Law enforcement believed that Bigelow had strangled his partner and tried to drag her out of the home.

Bigelow was charged with domestic violence aggravated assault and domestic violence criminal threatening.

Later that night, at 12:45 a.m. on Saturday, deputies responded to a Hermon residence for reports of a violated protection order.

The victim told deputies that Jason Wiggin, 42, of Hermon, came to the home multiple times throughout the day and made contact with the victim in violation of an active protection order.

Deputies established probable cause to arrest Wiggin, and they charged him with a violation of a protective order and domestic violence stalking.
