Democrat-candidate Graham Plater is no longer sorry for his Totenkopf tattoo, as the controversy rollercoaster takes another turn. In a fresh interview, Platner reversed his stance on the tattoo again, titling it an “eminently reasonable skull-and-crossbones.”
The change in artistic opinion comes months before Platner faces off with Gov. Janet Mills in the June 9th Democratic primary for a seat currently held by Republican Sen. Susan Collins. It is anticipated to be one of the tightest races this upcoming election cycle.
Platner claimed the tattoo was a drunken mistake made as a young Marine on deployment.
