As Democratic politicians and groups across the country rushed to disavow Graham Platner amid a new rape allegation, left-wing megadonor and horror author Stephen King expressed hope that the Democratic candidate would remain in the race, before backpedaling and deleting his post.
“Graham Platner may drop out. (I hope he doesn’t, but.) Meanwhile, the Abuser in Chief just keeps on keepin’ on,” said King on X.

In a follow-up, King implied that everyone in Congress had done things similar to Platner and suggested that no one should “cast the first stone.”
“Tell you what–if you knew the whole truth about everyone in the Senate and House of Reps, those chambers would be dead empty. Jesus said, “Let him without sin cast the first stone,” he said.

After his double-tap Platner posts, King posted a glowing review of the new children’s movie The Sheep Detectives and called it a night.
The next day, after facing backlash for his initial post defending Platner, King deleted it and posted an update saying that if Platner really did rape someone, he should drop out.
“Not defending Grah,[sic] Platner. If he committed rape, he should bow out. Just making a comparison,” said King.
He then corrected his typo with an entirely new post, simply saying, “Graham.”

In addition to his prolific writing career, King likes to stay on the cutting edge of progressive politics and has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to left-wing groups and campaigns.
From 1982 to 2024, Federal Election Commission data show that King spent a grand total of $778,050 to support Democrats, including thousands of dollars to Kamala Harris, Sen. Angus King (I-Maine), and Rep. Chellie Pingree (D-Maine).
FEC data does not include any payments from King in 2025 or 2026.

King is an overrated writer and a typical liberal dope. Years ago I read The Shining and it was such crap I wrote him off and never read another word he wrote.
What about “ No Kings “ ?
Are we supposed to forget about all of that …..after we forget about Platner . ??
Angus ? Angus Jr ?
Or just “ kings “ selected like the democrats “ select “ their candidates ?
So the machine replaced biden when they knew the jig was up. Now they’re going to do the same for planthead because it worked out so well the first time? This makes perfect sense to king. BTW thanks steve for paying that new mills millionaires tax, sucker.
The only things missing on King is a nose ring and blue hair.
Just another deranged and mentally ill libtard. Imagine what is buried in that freaks closet? Keep your kids away.
Just another hate America communist
I’d call king a half-wit but that would be giving him four times the credit he deserves.
They could share a porta potty together. Partay.
According to his latest victim graham planter doesn’t pull out why would he now
The horror writer has physically manifested his genre.
Seems Steve is for everything he is against.
“You are what you eat.” You are what you write.
Believe it or not Steve supported Goldwater in 64 and then he went to college.
Stephen who?
Intellectually dim and morally defective, small wonder he would support a Platner and then invoke Jesus of all things in doing so. He can tell a story but has made his fortune titillating and celebrating evil.
Are all these old lefties morphing into Rosie? First Pingree and now KIng…
Isn’t it time for him to leave America like all the other hacks? His glory days as a writer are over and the dummy clearly doesn’t know when to quit. Extreme cases of TDS going on no wonder we need mental asylums back!
King is sinking in the same boat as platner.
So his argument is that because Congress is full of disgusting perverts, we shouldn’t judge *any* of them? But sure, he’s not defending anything… King is a demented kook who steps in it almost every time he opens his mouth. He should have learned by now when to shut it, but he just can’t help himself.
Decent writer,poor judge of character.
