CCSO deputies were dispatched to 37 Oak Hill Rd. in Standish after the homeowner reported that a Jeep matching the description of a vehicle involved in a shooting was parked in her driveway.
Deputies found Aaron Difillipo, 52, unwilling to comply with their investigation.
Difillipo began using alcohol to swallow a large quantity of unidentified pills. He ignored an officer’s demands that he exit the vehicle.
Difillipo then circumvented police vehicles and spike strips, and drove down a side road, escaping from deputies.
CCSO deputies searching the area were unable to locate Difillipo, until one CCSO K-9 Deputy saw Difillipo driving on Route 113. He gave chase, but Difillipo drove onto Route 5/117 towards Cornish, and Maine State Police took over the pursuit.
State police were eventually able to apprehend Difillipo after forcing his car to stop using a PIT maneuver.
During the pursuit, a CCSO deputy sustained minor injuries when he was bitten by a dog from the department’s K-9 unit.
After the arrest, police discovered a crossbow, 30–30 shells, and liquor in plain view inside Difillipo’s car.
Difillipo is currently being held in Cumberland County Jail, on a slew of charges, including Refusing to Submit to Arrest, Criminal Threatening, OUI, and Aggravated Reckless Conduct.
