The towns of Cumberland, North Yarmouth and Yarmouth will join together to honor the 60th anniversary of the end of Korean War with a Veterans Day Ceremony on Monday, Nov. 11th.

The ceremony will begin at 9:45 a.m. at the Moss Side Cemetery in Cumberland, where remarks will be delivered by Bert Kendall, Chair of the Korean War Anniversary Celebration Committee. The ceremony will continue to the Village Green of North Yarmouth at 10:30, where remarks will be delivered by Lt. Col. Thaddeus V. Day, who is Supervising Judge Advocate at the Air National Guard 157 Air Refueling Wing at the Pease ANGB.  The ceremony will transition and culminate onto the Town Green in Yarmouth, (directly in front of Yarmouth Town Hall) where Bill Green, host of “Bill Green’s Maine,” will deliver remarks.

“(Korean War Veterans) helped us survive ‘The Forgotten War,’ and on this Veterans Day, 60 years after the end of the war, there are three towns in Maine who think of them as heroes who will never be forgotten,” Bert Kendall, Chair of the Korean War Anniversary Celebration Committee said.

This celebration was made possible through cooperation and support from Cumberland, North Yarmouth and Yarmouth town governments, the three veterans posts that serve these towns, American Legion Post # 91, AMVETS Post # 2 and VFW Post 10529; and MSAD #51 and the Yarmouth School District; and the many residents, volunteers and businesses that have joined these efforts.

Does anyone in government wonder why , 60 years after the Korean War ” ended ” , we are willing to risk sacrificing nearly 40,000 American lives and waste tens of BILLIONS of Taxpayer dollars defending a country that has NOTHING to do with the defense of the American homeland ?
