The Foundation for Government Accountability, a Naples, Florida-based think tank focused on developing state and national health care policy, on Tuesday released a powerful — and hilarious — video highlighting the priorities of the Affordable Care Act’s Medicaid expansion provisions.
Maine is one of a handful of states that have not expanded Medicaid pursuant to the ACA, also known as Obamacare, but the issue will almost certainly return in the 127th Legislature next year.
Republican Gov. Paul LePage vetoed Medicaid expansion bills five times, but both of his opponents — Democratic U.S. Rep. Michael Michaud and independent Eliot Cutler — have said they will support expansion if elected.
