White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre refused during Wednesday’s briefing to say whether President Joe Biden acknowledges Hunter Biden’s four-year-old daughter as his grandchild.
“I don’t have anything to share from here,” said Jean-Pierre, when asked about a New York Times story concerning the young child.
The Times reported that the girl’s father, Hunter, has never met his child.
DNA testing has proved conclusively that he is the girl’s father. However, President Biden has never acknowledged his granddaughter’s existence, and White House statements about the Biden family routinely omit her.
Despite a lucrative career as a Ukrainian natural gas executive and now as a world famous artist, Hunter Biden has resisted child support payments on the grounds that he cannot afford them.
Under an agreement finalized last week, Biden will give his daughter a few of his paintings, some of which have fetched half-a-million dollars from undisclosed buyers.
The agreement also includes monthly child support payments, according to the Times.
