A cargo ship flying a Singapore flag crashed into a support beam of the 1.6 mile long Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, Maryland, causing it to collapse and resulting in the death of several construction workers.

“I have declared a State of Emergency here in Maryland and we are working with an interagency team to quickly deploy federal resources from the Biden Administration. We are thankful for the brave men and women who are carrying out efforts to rescue those involved and pray for everyone’s safety,” said Gov. Wes Moore (D-Md.) in a statement.

Video of the incident shows a cargo ship, the Dali, appear to lose power before crashing into one of the bridge’s support beams, causing it to collapse.

Early Tuesday morning, the Baltimore Fire Department announced that rescuers were searching for motorists who were on the bridge when it collapsed, and initially referred to the situation as a “mass casualty incident.”

According to authorities, eight people were on the bridge at the time of the collapse, and multiple cars were detected in the cold water.

Currently, only two people have been rescued from the harbor, one of whom was transported to the hospital in serious condition.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejendro Mayorkas has claimed that there the incident was not an intentional terrorist act.

“There are no indications this was an intentional act and we are assessing the impacts to the Port of Baltimore,” said Secretary Mayorkas on X.

The @USCG was on the scene along with our state and local partners and is actively involved in search and rescue operations this morning. There are no indications this was an intentional act and we are assessing the impacts to the Port of Baltimore. (2/2)

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) reported that the Dali warned them that they had lost propulsion, and that they could crash into the bridge.

Currently, the cargo ship remains in the harbor, covered with some of the wreckage of the bridge, and the port has been closed, as the only entrance is blocked by the collapsed bridge.

None of the ship’s crew were injured in the collapse.

The cause of the ship’s loss of propulsion has not yet been established.

The ship was owned by the Synergy Marine Group, and was bound for Sri Lanka, and had been chartered by the Danish shipping company Maersk, although no employees of that company were on board the ship.

The collapsed bridge could have long lasting consequences for the American economy, as it will now block commercial vessels from reaching several critical ports in and around Baltimore.

“The collapsed bridge could have long lasting consequences for the American economy, as it will now block commercial vessels from reaching several critical ports in and around Baltimore.”

“There are no indications this was an intentional act”, said Mayorkas who claimed the southern border was secure.

This is what we get with an administration that appoints box checkers to high level positions.

Yeah we believe the Biden Whitehouse. Covid vaccines are safe and effective. If you are vaccinated, you’ll never get or spread covid. Hunter Biden laptop is Russian disinformation. Russians blew up the Nord Stream pipeline. The border is secure. The 2020 election was the most secure and honest election in history. January 6th was an insurrection. Evacuation of U.S. forces from Afghanistan was snag free…. (feel free to add some more).

Why do we not know the pilots names? Why does Biden not want the shipping company to pay for damages?

Get the navy seal udt guys there and blow the bridge into small pieces in the channel part. If they laid on the bottom there it would allow traffic now. Come on, cheap right now move.

I don’t believe one word that comes from anybody who works for federal or state government. The Covid scam/debacle reinforced that feeling in me. Way too often those holding political power over the rest of us resort to lies in order to make things go the way THEY think they ought to go. I have an engineering background and try to think with logic and reason, something missing in our government today. I want to know much about about just what happened on that ship. The ship had a data recorder which would have monitored the ship’s systems and also the conversation on the bridge. Will any of that ever become public. I wonder. It has been said in news reports that the pilot ordered them to lower the anchor on the port side which they evidently did. Nothing is going to stop 110,000 tons moving at 9 knots on the water very quickly but that would have created drag. I want to know if the harbor pilot was following the prescribed course for ships leaving the harbor. I assume the vessel was powered by a diesel electric system which employs diesel electric generators to provide power for the propulsion system.

Reports are that they had 4 diesel powered generators available plus an emergency generator on standby. Did ALL of these fail at the same time? How come black smoke was coming from the stack like the vessel was powering up just before they hit the bridge? How come the ship was dragging an anchor on the port side but was turning to starboard as it hit the bridge? The ship is showing that turn to starboard just where it is laying now. It had to turn to starboard to hit the pier. Easy to see. The world is waiting to hear some honest info about just what happened that night…….and why. I don’t expect truth from any government agencyl……..ever. They lost my trust forever during covid if not before.
