A Northfield, New Hampshire, woman was killed by police on Monday after she allegedly went on a domestic violence rampage, attacking someone with a fire extinguisher and refusing to drop a knife when officers arrived.

Northfield and Tilton, NH, police officers responded at approximately 12:12 a.m. to a 911 call from an apartment at 20 Vine Street in Northfield.

The caller reported that an adult female was attacking another resident, the caller’s girlfriend, with a fire extinguisher, smashing objects, and breaking a window. The caller urged police to hurry and identified the suspect as Megan L. Whiting, 27.

Officers arrived within six minutes. When they entered the apartment, they allegedly spotted the suspect holding a knife near an injured female victim.

Police repeatedly ordered Whiting to drop the knife, but she reportedly refused, and an officer shot her.

Officers then removed the knife from Whiting and extracted the injured victim from the apartment. Whiting was later pronounced dead at the scene, and an autopsy revealed that she was struck by multiple bullets.

This reads as if it was a justified shoot to save a women’s life. I hope that the authorities will treat the LEO respectfully as his next year may have have challenges.

I don’t understand why police have to kill a person with a knife just because that person won’t drop it. Why can’t they shoot her in her leg or tase her? Killing her ends any possibilities to find out any background details for her actions.
