A man wanted on a warrant out of Connecticut for manslaughter was arrested in Bangor on Wednesday, the U.S. Marshals Services (USMS) announced in a press release.

According to USMS, 42-year-old Walter Lawson of Bridgeport, Conn., is a suspect wanted in the State of Connecticut for the charge of 1st degree manslaughter.

The District of Connecticut USMS requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals’ Maine Violent Offender Task Force to locate and apprehend Lawson.

The joint investigation led law enforcement to Bangor, Maine, where USMS Task Force members located Lawson at a hotel and apprehended him without incident.

Lawson was transported to the Penobscot County Jail and charged as a fugitive from justice, and will be arraigned in Maine pending his extradition back to Connecticut, USMS said.
