The Westbrook Police Department on Sunday announced the arrest of a juvenile suspect as a result of their investigation of a late May robbery.
According to Westbrook Police, a report was received on Tuesday, May 28, of a juvenile being robbed and pistol-whipped on Maine Street in Westbrook near the old Warren Pool.
Westbrook Police say they launched an investigation into the incident were able to identify a suspect.
On Saturday, June 1, Westbrook Police officers assigned to detail at the city’s Together Days festival spotted the suspect, and arrested him without incident.
Arrested was a 17-year-old male from Westbrook, who was charged with robbery, aggravated assault and theft.
The teen suspect was transported to the Longcreek Youth Detention Center, police said.
The arrest is just the latest in a string of cases involving minors who are accused of violent crime, including offenses involving firearms.
