Two people were arrested over the past week after an East Millinocket Police K-9 was able to alert officers to the presence of illegal drugs in vehicles during traffic stops, police announced on Tuesday.

Shortly before p.m. on Thursday, July 11, East Millinocket Police Sgt. Mallory Clayton conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Main Street in East Millinocket for multiple motor vehicle violations.

East Millinocket Police K-9 Derby was deployed during the roadside investigation for a drug sniff of the vehicle, and alerted Sgt. Clayton to the presence of illicit substances in the vehicle.

Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered suspected fentanyl, and arrested the passenger in the vehicle, 48-year-old Tammy Michaud of Millinocket, for the unlawful possession of scheduled drugs.

On Tuesday, July 16, at about 2 a.m., Sgt. Clayton alongside K-9 Derby conducted a traffic stop on Medway Road in Medway for a motor vehicle defect.

K-9 Derby once again was able to sniff out the presence of illegal substances in the vehicle during the traffic stop.

A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, a handgun and ammunition.

The operator of the vehicle, 45-year-old Seneca Coburn of Millinocket, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of scheduled drugs and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

The real purpose of these dogs is to give cops the excuse to tear apart your car if you refuse to let them.

If Sniffy the Dog acts funny, you lose your rights.

Bring K-9 to stone ridge rd, barker ridge rd, rocky ledge road, chemo pond rd in eddington and mann hill rd and bagaduce road in holden, eastern ave in brewer …while you’re there, consider buying a quality time piece from me. These goddamn drug people are always in the way of my buyers who actually have money bands, not a bunch of twennys an fiddies that are all crumpled and smell like.old man dick.

Really, how hard is this. Put narcotics scanners at every intersection. Use K-9 to search every vehicle and residence. Those found with narcotics and test positive for narcotics are removed and put into FEMA camps. There are not a lot of people here! The number of people abusing narcotics is not that big! The entire operation would be DONE AND OVER WITH in not so many months!
