Kamala Harris’ CNN Town Hall Turns Into Political Debacle: VIDEO

Vice President Kamala Harris’s high-profile CNN town hall with Anderson Cooper quickly turned into a viral social media spectacle Wednesday night.

COOPER: Is there something you can point to in your life, political life, or in your life in the last four years that you think is a mistake that you have learned from?

HARRIS: I mean, I’ve made many mistakes, um, and they range from, you know, [laugh] if you’ve ever parented a child, you know, you make lots of mistakes, too, in my role as Vice President. I mean, I’ve probably worked very hard at making sure that, um, I am well versed on issues, and, um, I think that is very important. It’s a mistake not to be well versed on an issue and feel compelled to answer a question.

Clips of the interview rapidly spread on X.com, with political commentators of all kinds and sizes commenting on the Vice President’s floundering responses even while sharing a stage with a friendly left-wing host.

When it came to policy specifics, Harris struggled to reconcile her previous comments as a 2019 Democratic candidate for president and her role as “Border Czar” under the Biden administration with her more recent embrace, at least rhetorically, of stricter border security measures.

From 2021 to 2022, the Biden-Harris Administration implemented nearly 100 executive orders that repealed Trump Era immigration policies, loosened immigration restrictions, or decreased penalties for immigration crimes.

At the same time, illegal border crossings skyrocketed to unprecedented levels, creating crisis levels of homelessness and resource-scarcity in America’s largest cities.

Harris, who was asked to lead the administration’s border policies by President Joe Biden, avoided naming specific policies she would implement as President.

“Let’s just fix this thing,” she said.

As Harris was still on stage with Cooper, her official social media accounts quickly raced to clean up and clarify her remarks, especially when it came to immigration policy.
