Paul LePage Endorses Austin Theriault: Jared Golden “caught a bad case of the D.C. Disease”

Former GOP Governor Paul LePage says Jared Golden can't be trusted on guns, cops, and flip-flops

I have always put people over politics.

And I’m writing today because I know that Austin Theriault will do the same.

Unfortunately, Jared Golden has proven that he will do the opposite. He has become a Washington DC politician, and he can’t stop flip-flopping. He’s really caught a bad case of the DC disease.

I’m a straight shooter, and Austin is too. That’s why Jared Golden’s flip-flops are unacceptable to me. You deserve better.

You deserve better than Golden’s flip-flops on the 2nd Amendment, on the border, on inflation, on spending, and even on supporting Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

Our nation is at a crossroads. The challenges facing Maine families and small businesses are real, and they require real solutions and tough decisions.

Unfortunately, too often, Washington DC is gridlocked by partisan politics, leaving everyday Mainers behind.

In my 8 years as Governor, I spent every day making decisions that put people over politics. Some of these decisions were tough and even unpopular. But when you elected me, I promised to do what I thought was best for hardworking Maine families.

Together, we accomplished a lot. We grew Maine’s economy, paid our bills on time, and reformed welfare. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for what’s happening in Washington, D.C.

I believe in a government that puts people over politics, and Austin will do that. He will listen to Mainers, work to find solutions, deliver results, and leave the political pandering to Jared Golden and the pundits.

And, very importantly, Maine’s sportsmen and 2nd Amendment supporters are rallying behind Austin to protect our heritage and rights, because we know he won’t flip-flop on us like Jared Golden has.

In fact, Austin has received an A rating from the National Rifle Association, Gun Owners of Maine, and the Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine. Golden has mostly received F ratings.

We need people in Congress who – unlike Jared Golden – will prioritize the needs of Maine people over the needs of their political party.

Here’s another example: Jared Golden’s telling people – falsely – that Austin Theriault doesn’t support police. When I was Governor, Jared Golden actually voted against a budget that had police funding in it.

I have always called it as it is and I’ll tell you this: flip-floppers like Jared Golden don’t get the people’s work done.

Even though my straight-shooter attitude made me unpopular with some, through honesty, we accomplished a lot. We grew Maine’s economy, paid our bills on time, and reformed welfare. Can Jared honestly say the same? No.

Our government works best when we put people over politics. I believed that as governor and still believe that principle is true today. It’s a principle Jared Golden’s forgotten – he puts politics over people these days.

Look – Austin can’t put people over politics if we don’t help him get to Washington.

So, I’m calling on sportsmen and gun owners who want their rights to bear arms protected to get on board.

I’m calling on families who want more economic security to get on board.

I’m calling on veterans who want to see change and a strong America to get on board.

It’s time we all join Austin’s team and together, ensure we have a representative who will put Mainers ahead of politics.

Austin can’t do this alone, and he needs our help.

I can tell you firsthand that Austin is working as hard as he can to defeat Jared Golden.

Please join his team – go to his website, AustinforMaine.com, and volunteer, donate, join a coalition, or anything.

Let’s build a government that works for everyone, not just the powerful few, by electing Austin Theriault to Congress this fall.

I didn’t accept flip-flopping when I was governor, and I don’t accept it now.

Where is LePage living now? He moves back to Maine to run against Mitchell, gets his butt kicked, then moves back to Florida. If LaPage loved Maine he never would have left our great state
