Dominic LeBlanc, Public Safety Minister of Canada, announced another expansion of the nation’s restrictive gun laws on Thursday, adding 342 firearms to the prohibited list and threatening to send confiscated weapons to Ukraine.

“Firearms designed for the battlefield do not belong in our communities. That’s why since 2015, we’ve done more than any previous government on gun control, and why we’re pursuing further action today by prohibiting 324 additional models of assault-style firearms,” said LeBlanc on X.

The new ban goes into effect immediately and prevents the use, transfer, or sale of the weapons.

Canadian firearm owners and businesses will be able to receive some monetary compensation from the government when they turn in their guns.

Canadian gun owners will be granted an amnesty period, giving them until October 2025 to surrender their firearms before they face consequences.

Minister LeBlanc suggested that the Canadian government is working with the Ukrainian government to potentially send some of the firearms confiscated from Canadians under the new law to Ukraine.

“As part of that process, the government of Canada has committed to the Ukrainian government to identify whether some of these guns could be donated to support the fight for democracy in Ukraine,” said LeBlanc.

He characterized Ukraine’s war as a fight for Democracy, despite Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy indefinitely suspending elections and remaining in power after his term ended.

It remains to be seen whether semi-automatic weapons confiscated from Canadian civilians will turn the tide of Ukraine’s losing war against Russia.

In addition to confiscating guns and shipping them off to Ukraine, the Canadian government promised even more gun regulations just around the corner, coming in 2025.

Canadians can look forward to unspecified regulations to address “gender-based” gun violence by the end of January and expansions of Red and Yellow flag laws used to preemptively remove guns from people deemed dangerous by the government.

Canada also promised to impose bans on “large-capacity” magazines by March.

Canada wants to confiscate the guns of its own citizens as have all totalitarian countries done throughout history. Then, they want to give those guns to Ukraine so it can become a democracy? Wow! I guess their leadership under the “White Obama” has just as many dimwitted Leftists in positions of power as we do.

Does Canada realize that President Zelenskyy cancelled elections after he was elected and has banned the Ukraine Orthodox Church? That sure doesn’t sound like a democracy to me.

” these guns could be donated to support the fight for democracy in Ukraine,” said LeBlanc.” Or, the citizens of Canada could keep their guns “to support the fight for democracy in” CANADA! My wife and I have spent many months in Canada and respect the wonderful Canadian people: their government, not so much.

Not only do they plan to take them away from their own people , but they say they want to give them to the Ukrainians . Priceless .
I never thought Canadians were real wizards. Now I know for sure they aren’t .

Trudeau trusts Ukrainian citizens more than he trusts Canadian citizens and he respects Ukrainian sovereignty over Canadian sovereignty. What a way to be a national leader. Is he also on the Ukrainian kickback retirement plan like the Bidens?

Trudy doesn’t trust his citizens with a firearm but happily donates them to a dictator.
