Police say they responded to the area of Oxford and Portland Streets shortly before 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

A 37-year-old man from Portland was found by police at the scene who appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man was taken to Maine Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say that the shooting appears to be an isolated incident and that they do not believe it to be related to the other shootings that have occurred in the city in recent days.

Tuesday’s shooting is the fourth shots fired incident being investigated by police since Dec. 23.
