Whistleblower Accuses Maura Healey of Coverup After New Inspection Finds No ‘Major’ Issues

Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey’s (D) office claimed on Friday that its investigation of the numerous hotels converted into illegal immigrant shelters across the state found no major issues or evidence of criminal activity.

“I find it extremely hard to believe that with over 120 shelters, they could do the inspection that fast,” said Jon Fetherston, the former manager of a Healey Hotel in Marlborough, Mass., speaking to The Maine Wire.

“If they did do it, and I’m under the impression that it didn’t happen, anybody can pass a pre-announced inspection. And three, if she really wants this to go away and still trust in the public, then why not release the report,” he said.

The Boston Herald received a statement from Gov. Healey’s office claiming that an inspection ordered earlier this month of the “Healey Hotels” has not revealed anything of concern.

Healey ordered an inspection of the massive shelter system earlier this month after federal authorities arrested Dominican illegal immigrant Leonardo Andujar Sanchez, 28, at a repurposed Quality Inn in Revere, Mass.

Authorities found Sanchez allegedly in possession of five kilograms of fentanyl and an illegal assault rifle — contraband worth more than $1 million.

That arrest prompted Healey to order an inspection of the whole shelter system.

That inspection, according to Healey’s office, found no major issues or evidence of criminal activity, with all the hotels and “congregate sites” involved in the program already inspected.

The alleged results come less than a month after Massachusetts released more than 1,000 heavily redacted serious incident reports from the shelters, reports that disclosed publicly for the first time rampant sex crimes, drug crimes, and other heinous behavior occurring at the hotels.

The Maine Wire reviewed over 900 pages of reports and discovered countless incidents of domestic violence, sexual abuse and rape, drugs, threats of violence against residents and staff, vandalism, along with various other crimes.

Back in June I broke a story detailing the heinous crimes happening at a Marlborough, Mass Holiday Inn converted into an illegal immigrant flophouse by Gov Healey. I published details on everything from taxpayer funded Ubers for illegals, to a man raping his underage daughter.🧵

Fetherston, who has extensive firsthand experience with the crimes taking place at these shelters, believes that it is impossible to reconcile Healey’s allegedly clean inspection with the thousands of serious incident reports.

“It’s impossible. So is the governor of Massachusetts saying that rapes of small children are not crimes? Is the governor of Massachusetts saying that domestic violence against a women is not a crime. Is the governor of Massachusetts saying that EBT card fraud is not a crime. I mean, it sure sounds like it,” said Fetherston.

While Healey only decided to investigate the shelters this month, the Maine Wire exposed some of the monstrous crimes committed at the hotels back in June, publishing an exclusive report detailing the crimes described in then-unpublished incident reports from just one of the Healey Hotels, including domestic violence and rape.

Most horrifically, the Maine Wire received whistleblower documents showing that, at the repurposed Holiday Inn, an illegal immigrant, Ronald Joseph, was accused of raping his daughter both on the way from Mexico and in the U.S., impregnating her.

Instead of working to prosecute Joseph and the other alleged perpetrators, the Healey administration gave him a taxpayer-funded Lyft ride to a different shelter in Worcester, Mass.

Fetherston also decried the Massachusetts governor for ignoring the Maine Wire’s report on the Marlborough hotel, saying that her failure to act likely abetted the continued victimization of migrants staying at the shelters.

“Your story went national, national. It’s reported on major news networks. She’s never even acknowledged. So do we have a compassionate, caring governor, or do we have a robot running our governments,” he said

After Healey ordered the inspection and in the wake of negative media attention, even from left-wing outlets like the Boston Globe, she sent a letter to the state legislature calling for a drastic change to the shelter system.

Those changes would restrict the shelters to Massachusetts residents and require applicants for the shelter to disclose their criminal history.

Fetherston was extremely skeptical of Healey’s letter, suggesting that he believed it was merely political “posturing” rather than any real desire for change.

“It’s been a full month. There’s been no reform put in place in a full calendar month of knowing that she had a problem. So it’s just all posturing. She doesn’t even have the authority to change the legislature has to change it. So it’s, it’s she’s just kicking the can down the road,” he said.
