Last week a traffic stop in Westbrook during a routine patrol led to a significant drug bust on Brackett Street, authorities reported.

According to Westbrook Police, on the evening of Tuesday, June 24, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle associated with suspected drug trafficking the officer had observed at a residence on Brackett Street.

Illegal drugs were found during a search of the vehicle, police said.

This prompted Westbrook Police to investigate the residence on Brackett Street, where they encountered several individuals and additional illegal substances.

Quick action by officers prevented one suspect from destroying evidence, police said.

Seized during a search of the property was approximately 61 grams of fentanyl and 23 grams of methamphetamine.

A total of six people were arrested as a result of the drug bust, including several who were out on bail conditions at the time:

  • Sara Dymond, 46, of Westbrook, was charged with Aggravated Trafficking in Scheduled Drugs and Violation of Conditions of Release (on seven sets of bail);
  • Christopher Cavallaro, 45, of Scarborough, was charged with Aggravated Trafficking in Scheduled Drugs and Violation of Conditions of Release (on two sets of bail);
  • Saddiq Ali, 32, of Portland, was charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Failure to Provide Correct Name, and Violation of Conditions of Release (on three sets of bail), along with an unrelated arrest warrant;
  • Daniel Beausang, 37, of Portland, was charged with Unlawful Possession of Scheduled Drugs;
  • Jordan Madsen, 26, a transient, was charged with Unlawful Possession of Scheduled Drugs;
  • Erica Mathies, 25, of Standish, was charged with Unlawful Possession of Scheduled Drugs.
