A Maine man is in a New Hampshire jail after sparking a high-speed chase on Wednesday, fleeing police after an attempted traffic stop in Seabrook, NH.

NH State Trooper Cameron Vetter spotted a 2025 Volkswagen Atlas allegedly traveling at 116 mph in a 65 mph zone southbound on I-95 in Seabrook, and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.

The driver of the Volkswagen, Romario Linton, 27, of Berwick, initially appeared to be slowing down before he allegedly sped up in an attempt to escape Vetter.

Linton reportedly exited the highway before making an abrupt U-Turn at the Hampton Toll Plaza, and continuing south. The driver continued until he reached Exit One, where he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a delineator post, ruptured a tire, and came to a stop.

Even his high speed crash apparently did not stop Linton, who then allegedly fled on foot into the woods.

Additional officers, along with a State Police K-9 Unit, responded to the scene, and eventually took Linton into custody as he attempted to run across I-95 near his crash site.

He faces two felony counts of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor counts of disobeying an officer, resisting arrest or detention, and conduct after an accident.

The Seabrook Police Department, the Amesbury, Massachusetts Police Department, and the Salisbury, Massachusetts Police Department assisted with the arrest.
