The Sanford Police Department on Monday announced five major arrests from last week, including three people arrested at a home in Sanford as the result of a joint operation with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency (MDEA).

According to Sanford Police, on Tuesday, July 1, officers assisted the MDEA in executing a search warrant at a residence in Sanford. Police did not specify the address where the search occurred.

Arrested as a result of the search was:

  • Juan P. Zamarripa, 33, of Sanford, on active warrants for unlawful possession of a scheduled drug and unlawful possession of fentanyl powder;
  • Paul M. Casey, 39, of Sanford, on active warrants for probation revocation and unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs;
  • Cassi A. True, 32, of Sanford, on active warrants for probation revocation and unlawful possession of methamphetamine.

On Monday, Sanford Police also announced the arrests of two more major arrests unrelated to their operation with the MDEA.

On Wednesday, July 2, Sanford Police arrested 42-year-old Chad R. Bellefountaine of Sanford.

Bellefountaine was charged under active warrants with probation revocation, tampering with a witness, information, juror or victim, and was separately charged with unlawful possession of scheduled drugs.

The following day, Sanford Police arrested Alecxander Sweeney, 24, of Sanford, on a warrant for possession of sexually explicit material of a minor under 12.
